So, I found this blog, by way of this radio program, during one of my extended periods of windshield time that I’ve been enjoying lately as we do the move to sun, sand, and 10% unemployment. And, I have to admit, I’m fascinated. I want to go to Detroit. I want to see a city being de-civilized. I want to see what happens when we all just decide to up and leave, up close and personal. I was equally enthralled by the PBS special – A World Without People – and this is real. Detroit is closing up, retracting, being reclaimed by nature. Fercrissakes, there was a coyote sighting in downtown! If that’s not reclaiming proof, then I don’t know what is. And I guess I’m fascinated because we as a species are very arrogant. And I think we all think we will be here forever. But we won’t. And very quickly after our departure, our planet will not mourn us. Life will go on. Without us. Okay, I’ll shut up. Read the blog, listen to the story. See what I mean.
